Open Your Hearts and Minds to Abortion!

There's some buzz this morning on Barack Obama's recent statement that the U.S. should "reduce the number of women seeking abortions" but not the number of actual abortions!

Check the links at
Memeorandum for more. But since the debate on torture's also the rage this weekend, check out the tortured logic of this pro-choicer's letter to the editor at the Los Angeles Times:

Whether members of the pro-life movement realize it or not, they now have a president who actually wants to do something about the number of abortions performed in America. However, if they fail to moderate their self-righteous, self- defeating tactics and continue to try to impose their will on those who disagree with them, without discussion or compromise, they will get exactly what they got from eight years of the pro-life-friendly Bush administration -- nothing.

Wake up: President Obama wants to reduce and, to the extent that it is possible, end abortions in America. But it is you who protest so vehemently and yet accomplish so little.

Obama is right; open your hearts and your minds if justice for the unborn is what you really seek.

I guess that's the pro-choice version of "Obey Obama!"

I don't think it's so much "Obey Obama" as it is listen to Obama. He may actually have some good ideas... if you can set aside your hatred long enough to listen to him. Remember, other people besides you have occasionally been right in this world.

Hatred is a tenet of the Left. I guess someone missed BDS. Transference is something you need to stop on the Left. I not sure how anyone is supposed to listen to what Obama says and take it seriously. He has flip-flopped so many times since his election it is like watching a whirling dervish. But there is one issue he has stayed consistent and that is pro-abortion, even to the point of thinking that killing a child from a botched abortion was okay.

Yes, but it is disturbing to see much of our nation going the same way. Remember that America elected him president. I work with veterans and I see this man get much admiration from decent people, perhaps better people than me. I hope America snaps out of this before it's too late.

Morally, the solution to "reduce the number of women who get abortions" which would most fit his idea of "American values" would be to let all the serial killers in our prisons out on the street.

Just look at Obama's actual voting record when it comes to abortion, even those of the post-natal variety.

To my knowledge, he has yet to vote against ANY abortion procedure, and that includes setting aside the just-born to die.

As with all things Obama, what he says is usually the exact opposite of what he eventually does, or has done in the past.

After all, Obama said the feds weren't going to nationalize the banks, even as they were moving to do exactly that.

He also said the feds were not interested in running the automobile manufacturers.

Tell that to GM and Chrysler.

Obama's lying is approaching pathological proportions.

Using the current strategy of "my way or the highway" when it comes to abortion politics, how many abortions will be performed in the next 10 years? How successful has that strategy been during the last 8 years of the Bush administration at reducing the number of abortions? If you're satisfied with the progress you've made since Roe v. Wade using this strategy, keep on truckin'. If you're not, maybe it's time to rethink your strategy in order to achieve the justice for the unborn you *say* is your goal.
